while going through several sites today, i just couldn’t resist swiping a couple of pictures from CuteOverload.

they’re funny, sure, but there was something about these guys that reached out to me. maybe it’s because i’m a bit swamped with work these days and i just wanted to see if other creatures were also feeling the “pinch” of having to work hard for your next meal harharhar.

cat mechanic

ladies, don’t despair. there’s a hot mechanic in town, and with his magic hands he’ll soon have your engine running purr-fectly.

digger doggie

doggie digger in action — hey mate, can you dig this?

or maybe, i just seriously need a little inter-species pick-me-up moment to lighten up after all the horrible events that have occurred this week.

here’s a piece of video clip that never fails to tickle my funny bone…

i was transfixed and giggling like a loon first time i saw this. a terrific piece from a wacky bunch of japs who know how to combine quirky (and well-used) gags and produce one funny sequence that’s universally appealing.

i wasn’t able to watch the whole show but the consensus is neil patrick harris did an awesome job as this year’s host.

there are several rib-tickling moments in the show. here are a couple of ‘em:

this time, let jimmy fallon “do” (dance? mime?) the talking. (this cracked me up!)

and then, there’s the incomparable ricky gervais

p.s. i don’t know how long these gems will be available in youtube, but let’s enjoy ‘em while they last. nyeheheh

i have long been guilty of launching into spontaneous swearing whenever i’m in extreme pain, especially when it (e.g., accidental bumps, slips, hitting against hard objects, etc.) happens unexpectedly. over the years, i have tried to minimize this reaction but i suppose you can say that my efforts have been largely ineffectual.

off-colorfor some reason, lapsing into fluent cursing has been a way for me to “let off” steam despite knowing that it doesn’t really make the pain go away. still, after reading a few articles (USA Today, BBC News, and Telegraph) regarding the benefits of spitting out vulcanic oaths while going through an excruciating experience has given me a feeling of vindication.

more than that, it made me smile. i guess, these scientific findings (reported by a research team from Keele University, UK) do give you a convenient and legitimate excuse to “air out” a few choice expletives — something that you wouldn’t normally do when you’re in polite company. ahem.

naturally, there’s a downside (read: PAIN) and you do need to be careful in case there are kids within earshot.
