as irrational and cranky as it sounds, i think i’m beginning to hate 2009 (it’s our annus horribilis, if you ask me). and i can’t wait until it’s over.
apart from the spate of deaths of high-profile figures both in and out of the country, we were basically battered by ondoy just when we thought we were starting to recover from the effects of global recession. and we had just barely gotten our breath back when — boom! — we got clobbered again, this time by pepeng.
it’s enough to make you wonder if there’s another one coming along (*knock on wood*). i know resilience is one of our strong points, but at this rate i wonder if we will have enough strength to survive another natural disaster of this scale…
on a more personal level, three of my office mates (who happen to be close friends,) have lost a parent this year due to illness. *sigh* hopefully, things will turn around soon.
we have already reached our quota for tragedies. but in case we get one again, i know we’re gonna survive another day.
i know mordsith. hopefully it’ll be loooonng while before the next one hits us. we could really use a good break right now
i really hope there’s no more floods… it’s a pitiful state… this 2009, we got robbed, and this 2009, business went clashing, good thing we are picking up.
Exactly! I couldn’t wait for 2009 to be over. As in. So looking forward to 2010!!!
This year is quite interesting. Too many deaths and misfortunes for a lot of people.
This is also why I find it quite disturbing that I feel that 2009 is my lucky year, considering what has happened in my recent life. o_0
actually, this is one reason why i can’t wait for 2010. am hoping for a better year.
my profound apologies for the lack of updates guys. i still haven’t had my internet reconnected since i moved to my new place. i promise to make up for this as soon as things are a-ok :). until then, rock on!
